Open Water

PADI Open Water Scuba certification is the beginning in experiencing the underwater world. This course will take you through the initial steps required to dive safely in the ocean; from understanding your equipment to respecting the marine environment and preventing dive related potential hazards. $249 includes:

  • 8 hours of classroom instruction
  • 10 hours of pool instruction
  • 4 open water dives
  • 7 tank fills
  • Certification card
  • Graduation party

Additional costs:

  • $225.00 enrollment fee (Can be used for purchases and rentals)
  • Educational Materials (PADI requirement):
    • Option 1: 8 hour classroom day + PADI learning book ($81.30)
    • Option 2: PADI online e-learning course ($170) - ask shop for instructions
  • Major dive gear (wet suit, BCD, regulator, dive computer, air, tanks and weights)
  • Open Water DVD: Purchase $45.00, rental $20.00 (PADI requirement)
  • Personal Gear (Mask, Fins, Snorkel, Gloves, Hood and Booties)
    • Purchase personal gear at Tropical Adventures and receive $50 off of your enrollment fee. Personal gear cannot be rented

If you purchase your wet suit, BCD, Regulator and Dive computer at Tropical Adventures, we will wave your enrollment, weight and air rental fees.

See Class Schedule tab for the dates of our upcoming classes. We usually have a morning class that begins at 7am and ends around 12pm on all scheduled days, and an afternoon class that begins at 11:30am and ends around 4:30pm. Class length always depends on class size and pace of students. You must stay with your scheduled class time for the duration of the course.

All students must review and sign the medical and learning agreement files
